About the event

Join us for this fun and educational day.  The aim is to inspire you to create a relationship with your equine based on mutual trust and understanding, placing the welfare of the equine as paramount and above all else.

Equine Agility UK is open to all, we welcome participants of all abilities, so whether you are just starting or have been competing for some time, there is something for everybody.

What can I expect from my day ?

The only equipment you need for you horse is a headcollar, and preferably a long rope - between 9' and 12' is ideal.

Protective horse boots are optional.

What if leading my equine in just a headcollar makes me anxious?

We say no bridles - however - the most important thing is that you can start the clinic feeling safe and confident.

We feel that leading a bitted equine can actually close down a conversation rather than open one up, the bit can be a distraction from the subtleties needed to "ask" the equine questions about the obstacles.

You will be given help to understand this if you choose to use a bridle.

We recommend wearing a hard hat and gloves, for adults this is a personal choice.

For juniors 16 years and under it is compulsory.

Clinic Format

Your day will start in the indoor arena with an introductory chat from your facilitator, Sally Golding.  Sally will explain any health and safety issues and give you a short introduction to the obstacles.

Use this time to ask any questions or concerns you may have.

This to be your day so please ask for help and support if you feel you need it.

Each session will be approximately 3 hours in a group of maximum 6 horses.  All the horses will be in the arena togather so we recommend that your horse is safe to handle in that situation.  If you have any concerns, please contact the organiser Jennie Blakehill via Harmony Equitation.

There will be a morning and afternoon session. Each session will last about 3 hours.  The morning session will be for those who are new to Equine Agility starting at the begining.  The afternoon session will be for those who have done Equine Agility before and are looking to progress their skills with each obstacle. Please book on to the group you feel most comfortable with.  Anyone completely new should book the morning session.
